Introduction
Earlier this year we got to see a gameplay trailer for ReCore, but it left out so many details that the game was still a mystery to us all. ReCore is an upcoming action-adventure game published by Microsoft Studios for both the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It’s hard to find information on ReCore, and for a while all we had was the trailer from E3 2015.
More information has been released and the September 2016 release date is creeping up on us, so here’s everything we know about ReCore so far, along with some gameplay footage and screenshots to show you what this game is all about.
Plot
ReCore revolves around a woman named Joule Adams, who was one of the first volunteers for the “Far Eden” colony. Joule wakes up one day after centuries in cryo-sleep and finds that everything in her world has gone completely wrong. She’s not alone though, as she has her Corebot companion, Mack. Together, they embark on a journey to save mankind from robots that are determined to rid the planet of humans.
Gameplay
Earlier this year we got to see a gameplay trailer for ReCore, which wasn’t in-depth enough for us to explain exactly how everything will play out. Some critics were unimpressed with this trailer, saying it doesn’t look very exciting.
Here’s the trailer so you can see for yourself. The video shows us some basic combat and player abilities, and the ability to transform your robot companion looks interesting, but it’s clearly not the main focus of gameplay.
ReCore is a game that Microsoft hasn’t been releasing any details for, and in comparison to all their other upcoming titles this one gets talked about the least. It’s an entirely new series and it does look promising, but since we know so little its one of those games you will have to purchase to find out if you like it, or wait until it launches and wait for the reviews to come in.
Not Your Traditional Xbox Exclusive
Microsoft is taking PC gaming more serious and ReCore will also be available for Xbox on Windows 10, so you need to get that free upgrade if it’s still available and you don’t it installed yet. Like many upcoming Xbox One games, you will be able to play on both PC and console, which is convenient for many gamers.
It’s part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program so if you purchase it for Xbox One you can also have it downloaded to your PC, or you can purchase the PC version and have it installed on Xbox One – it’s now the same thing. No need to purchase both versions, that’s a good deal.
The good thing about this is that if you play ReCore on your Windows 10 PC your save will sync with your Xbox One, so it’s not separate at all .
Conclusion
ReCore is coming soon and we wish there was more information to share but right now the details are scarce. It looks like its worth the purchase if you’re into action games, and it’s nice to see another game with a female protagonist.
There is an upcoming to pre-order ReCore at GameStop, and you might even be interested in the $199.99 Collector’s Edition of the game, which comes with a Metal Case, decoder dial, copy of the game, a Lithograph, and a statue of Joule herself.
What do you think? Will you be purchasing ReCore? Here’s another video trailer to give you a preview of what to expect!
