Atari revealed this morning that they are going the retro route with the announcement of their new title, [I]Retro Atari Classics[/i]. The game, in development for the Nintendo DS, will take 10 classic Atari games and reinvent them with fresh new graphics done by world reknowned graffiti artists and feature many key DS trademarks like touch screen controls and dual screen gameplay.
“Some of gamers’ favorite classics are getting tagged for the 21st century by some of the most talented graffiti artists in the world,” said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Atari. “With its blend of old school addictive gameplay and new school artistry and technology, Retro Atari Classics is the must have game for all Nintendo DS gamers, young and old.”
Games on the roster include [i]Pong, Missle Command, Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Tempest, Warlords, Gravitar, Lunar Lander, and Sprint.[/i]. In addition, each game will be playable in its original form as well as the new “Tagged” graffiti modes, featuring art from artists such as REAS, Delta, and Obey Giant.
[i]Retro Atari Classics[/i] will hit store shelves on March of next year
