A Wii version of the ever popular Splinter Cell series is sneaking into the list of launch titles for the Wii. Ubisoft stated that Splinter Cell: Double Agent will "be available for the hotly anticipated launch of Nintendo's new console."
Tony Key, the vice president of marketing at Ubisoft stated, "The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximizing the capabilities of each respective video game console platform."
The Wii build of the game will be based on the PS2 and GameCube versions with a boost being given to the gameplay and graphics. This version will lack some of the missions included in the Xbox 360 version, but will include a brand new control scheme catered to the Wii.
The controls will make full use of the Wii-mote and the nunchuck attachment, but play-testing of the controls was still underway at this time so the exact details of the controls are still unavailable.
No online gameplay is planned, but downloadable content hasn't been confirmed or denied.
