Sony Computer Entertainment of America announced the launch of [i]MLB 2006[/i], their upcoming baseball title today. Now on its third year on the PlayStation 2, [i]MLB[/i] is adding numerous gameplay developments, such as enhanced AI, graphics, and the return of EyeToy functionality.
“By presenting gamers with the finer details and nuances that make baseball America’s Pastime, MLB 2006 provides gamers with a true-to-life experience from the diamond,” said Scott Rohde, director of product development, 989 Sports. “MLB 2006 provides baseball fans with an opportunity to look and feel what it’s like to play in the show.”
Other additions to the game include building on last year’s franchise mode with player morale and a new career mode. This time around, an all new player morale system will track how players are feeling on every level and it will carry over to their day-to-day performance. In Career mode, you’ll be able to play from the player’s perspective and control their fate from the beginning to end of their career.
[i]MLB 2006[/i] is slated to hit the PlayStation 2 in spring of next year.
