At E3, Namco-Bandai have shown off the first trailer for a spin-off from one of the most-popular fighting game series around. Soul Calibur Legends, a Wii exclusive, takes four of the series’ most-popular characters into a new action-adventure game.
Siegfried, Taki, Mitsurugi and Ivy, will star in the game, which will have a heavy emphasis on using the Wii’s controller. Graphically, the game is a step up from Soul Calibur 3, but definitely a step down from Soul Calibur 4, which also had a trailer with some tidbits of gameplay footage. By moving the Wii Remote vertically and/or horizontally, combos from the game can be used. Cooperative split-screen gameplay was also shown off, but was not shown to be separate, like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory or an actual part of the game like in Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. A release date was not given, but a 2008 release is likely. Check back with Mygamer for updates and previews as more details come available.
