Spark Unlimited, the developer of Call of Duty: Finest Hour, is suing Activision for a whopping $10 million dollars. Apparently a deal was agreed upon between the two companies in 2002 for Spark to create three Call of Duty video games for the console market. The problem is the lawsuit alleges that Activision took Spark Unlimited?s idea for the second game in the series (which would turn out to be Call of Duty 2: Big Red One), and decided to develop the game in-house with Treyarch. The suit claims, ?Activision has already decided to bring the development of the sequel in-house at Activision so it could realize an even higher level of profit on the sequels than it had on the original game.? Spark Unlimited is also suing for compensation for developing Call of Duty: Finest Hour?s multiplayer mode which was created at the last minute from their own money. Spark even states that Activision tried to hire some of the developer?s vital employees away from them ?hoping that if Spark was sufficiently crippled, [the company] would be unable to protects its rights.?
