Nintendo is teaming up with the Society for the Arming of Endangered Animals to help in the fight against small woodland creatures being hunted in the wild. In the partnership, Nintendo will provide defense systems to a percentage of animals in the form of high-tech assault weaponry. Results of this innovative new program can be found in Star Fox: Assault for the Gamecube.

“Too often the smallest creatures are the most defenseless, subject to the ravages of nature and human encroachment on their habitats,” says Reynard Vulpine, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of animal-human reconciliation. “By arming woodland creatures with sophisticated assault technologies, Nintendo aims to level the playing field.”
Star Fox: Assault ships on February 14.
