SouthPeak Interactive has unveiled the first details about State of Emergency 2. This sequel to the original, riot inducing State of Emergency is said to be grittier and more realistic than its predecessor.
The game will be set four years after the original, and will follow Spanky and the rest of the Freedom movement. They will once again battle an evil corporate dictatorship that is intent on the global enslavement of the masses. SOE2 will feature 12 single player missions in a fully cinematic story mode. Players will be able to rally giant crowds, and take them to the street for the cause or send them running in fear. Spanky can also control various gangs around Capitol City, and use them to overcome the waves of enemies. The game will have useable land, sea, and air vehicles equipped with destructive weaponry.
“We are looking forward to reintroducing everyone to Spanky and his crew and to hitting the top of the charts again,” said Mark Greenshields, Chief Executive Officer of DC Studios. “Our team has made State of Emergency 2 a really great game and one that far surpasses the original. I am extremely pleased to be publishing State of Emergency 2 with SouthPeak and confident that together we will make SOE2 a great success”
State of Emergency 2 will be available for PS2 in the US in February, and in Europe in March. A PSP version is slated for a fall 2006 release.
