SNK announced its plans to deliver an all-new game in the Metal Slug series on the PlayStation 2 today at the Tokyo Game Show . As of now, the game has only been announced for release in Japan next year.
The new Metal Slug will be a third-person 3D action title, but was not in playable form on the show floor. According to the videos, you will still be able to jump, fire, and toss stick grenades along with the ability to move freely and tilt the camera in any direction you choose.
It’s safe to say that the new Metal Slugis in an early stage of development. Game play seems very basic, with the only on-screen indicators being a life meter that appears to be unlike previous versions as you are allowed more than one hit before dying, along with more weapons and an improved radar system.
