Namco Bandai has some great news for PSP owners that have been lamenting the lack of RPG’s for the system. They have announced a Summer release for the sequel to 2005’s PSP RPG The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion.
The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch will feature not only the lengthy title, but lengthy gameplay as well. The turn-based RPG will put players in the role of two young heroes – Jurio and Chris. As the two embark on a pilgrimage to five shrines around their village, they discover the Raual Wave – a force that threatens to destroy everything in its path. The Wave seems to be emanating from the Queen’s castle, and the heroes, with help from their friends, have been chosen to stop it.
Namco Bandai describes the game as an epic coming-of-age story that features easy pick-up-and-play game mechanics, and improved enemy AI that will gauge the player’s strengths before attacking. The top-down environments from the original Legend of Heroes will make a return, as well as the anime inspired graphics.
