Footage has leaked of CDProjekt’s CEO Marcin Iwinski introducing an early alpha version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to what seems like potential publishers. Showing relatively unchanged gameplay mechanics and art from the previous edition of the series, Marcin describes technical changes to the game as well as outlining selling points for hopefully eager partners. The video can be found here.
Now unable to keep its development a secret, CDProjekt took a few minutes out of their day to answer a few questions about the sequel. They have ditched the previous Aurora Engine for a new one built from the ground up for their specific use; allowing them to bypass previous bottlenecking issues found during development of The Witcher. None of the voice work found in the leaked video is final and are only placeholders while they seek a partner. The original development team is working on the game, recent rumors of layoffs only effected the now in limbo console game The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.
A Release date for the PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be announced once a publishing partner has been signed. Stick with MyGamer for more details as they become available.
