Here?s one thing that can be etched in stone: the release date for Tomb Raider: Legend, the next installment in a game series immortalized in history. Eidos Interactive has set the date for Lara Croft?s next outing at April 11, 2006, and she will make stops on the PlayStation 2, Xbox (the first one), and PC. There are two other versions planned for Tomb Raider: Legend, one for the Sony PSP and the other for the Xbox 360. But as for release dates on those games, Eidos Interactive is only saying they will arrive ?shortly after? their current-generation counterparts.
Tomb Raider: Legend, in case you haven?t already guessed, is Eidos?s big push to put some spring back into Lara?s step, as her previous expeditions, especially Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, seemed to be sending the series along a downward spiral. To do this, Eidos and Legend?s developers, Crystal Dynamics, have recruited original Tomb Raider developer Toby Gard to assist, for if anyone knows how to do a Tomb Raider game, it?s Gard. Does Lara Croft still have the stuff to get the job done, or is it time she finally retired? MyGamer shall keep you posted.
