I can?ft remember a time when I played a game as good as this one. With so many improvements since Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, this new and improved sequel will dominate play on several consoles including the PC. With its new release on Playstation 2, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X on XBOX, and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 on Gamecube, gamers can look forward to a long and exciting game of new spins, tricks, and grinds. This game will definitely dominate the Christmas season on Playstation 2 because of its superior graphics, audio, and especially game play. With only miniscule flaws in some factors of this game, I give much credit to the developers who created this great and amazingly fun game.
The graphics in this game were some of the best that I have ever seen on Playstation 2. Maybe I was so amazed with the game play of this game that I forgot to take in the graphics and audio, but of what I saw, they were great. Even though some of the environments were not completely realistic, the skater always was. Yes, some of the moves were unrealistic, but that added to the game play and made the game even more fun. If this game were completely realistic, then it would be extremely hard like skateboarding is in real life. At least for me that is. Sometimes the graphics can feel a bit distorted and at some points it can look as through the skater is jumping through a lead pipe, but most of the time the graphics were great if not perfect. I was amazed at how much effort was put into this category.
Unlike most games, the audio in this game was great. The creators picked the perfect soundtrack that would apply to the selected audience. With different genres of music for each environment the audio really got you into the game and made you want to play on and on. This game had the best audio that I had seen in a long time. I would recommend this game just for its audio any day.
The game play of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 was the factor that stuck out the most. If the game play was not as good as it is then this game would not be popular at all. With thousands of moves and variations to choose from, it seemed as if you had limitless abilities. There are also a wide variety of modes and games. For two players, you can play tag, horse, and many other fun games. Or if you are playing alone, you can play in career mode, do a single session, or just have a free skate. But beware, if you are not good enough at this game you will not be able to unlock the future levels all in different environments.
Overall, this is the best game I have played in a while and I would recommend it to anyone who owns a Playstation 2 and enjoys sport games. This game should be in the hands of every single PS2 owner in the US.
