This week Turbine Inc. and CDC Games, a subsidiary of China.com Inc, which is also a business unit of CDC Corporation, struck a bargain where Turbine Inc's upcoming online game [i]The Lord of The Rings Online[/i] for market distribution in China. Per the arrangements between CDC Games and Turbine Inc. CDC will work together with Turbine to tune [i]Lord Of The Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar[/i] for the Chinese market. Jeffrey Anderson, the President and CEO of Turbine Inc. offered this statement for the choice of CDC Games as the Chinese distributer of [i]The Lord of The Rings Online[/i]: "CDC Game's experience in operating successful titles coupled with the massive growth of the Chinese market represent an outstanding opportunity for this title."
Fred Wang, Chairman of CDC games, and an independent director of CDC Corporation, offered this statement about the partnership: “Many games have been inspired by the characters and stories set out by Tolkien, and we expect a tremendous response from loyal fans and gamers in China.” And last, but not at all least, Dr. Xiaowei Chen, the CEO of CDC Games, had a comment of his own on this agreement: “..we are very excited to bring The Lord of the Rings Online to China not only because it represents a major global franchise, but also because Turbine has developed a truly beautiful and engaging game, in which players will feel like they are part of Tolkien's world.”
