March 8th 2005 marked a historic day in gaming. The first six stars in the Walk of Game were officially unveiled in San Francisco; a monument mirroring the star studded Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Two stars honored the lifetime achievement of Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong) and Nolan Bushnell (co-founder of Atari and creator of Pong), and four honored the influential games and characters; Halo, Link, Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog.
