After an unforgettable, that would loved to be forgotten, year for the NHL and hockey fans a like EA looks to mend wounds by giving fans what they want in the form of their NHL franchise EA NHL 06. After 14 successful seasons EA isn’t looking to stop their virtual league even when the real life counterpart is nonexistent, at the moment. Instead they are going at it like any other year, improving on the last and adding new features. They have signed Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay Lightning to be the cover of the title. Lecavalier had this to say, “I am very excited about being a member of the EA Sports team”, “I grew up playing EA Sports games and to be a part of NHL 06 now is a great honor.” With game play gamers will be able to freely control players as in the past versions while making defensive and offensive moves all over the ice. EA will also be introducing a NHL 06 only feature as many of the EA Sports games have in the shape of EA Sports Skill Stick which will deal greatly with shooting style. We can only hope for a successful “season” in the form of EA’s Hockey franchise since we all know that obviously didn’t happen in reality.
