With the gamers from around the US converging this weekend at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, over 175 of America's top PC and console gamers will compete for a chance to represent the US at this year's World Cyber Games (WCG) in Monza, Italy.
This year's tournament runs from September 15-17 and will feature the largest prize purse ($75,000) in the tournament's history. The tournament includes celebrity appearances, interactive booths from Microsoft, Samsung, Shuttle and others, and live action and gaming ‘shoutcasters' who provide play-by-play announcing.
The game roster includes Star Craft: Brood Wars (PC), Warcraft: Frozen Throne (PC), Half-Life: Counter Strike 1.6 (PC), Warhammer 40,000: Winter Assault (PC), FIFA Soccer 06 (PC), Need for Speed: Most Wanted (PC), Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360) and Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360).
