Microsoft dropped a news bomb on the gaming world today with a few announcements regarding Xbox One and Xbox Live. Starting June 9th, the Xbox One console will be sold withOUT Kinect and retail for $399, a $100 price drop. This $399 price tag also matches that of PS4. Secondly, Microsoft is dropping the Xbox Live Gold membership requirement to us entertainment apps, like Netflix, Twitch and HBO Go, on both 360 and X1.
As a way to please fans, Microsoft also announced that the Games for Gold program will also be extended into the Xbox One platform instead of just 360.
Normally, Microsoft has been giving away two games each month but will give away three in June to celebrate the One Year Anniversary of the Games for Gold program. Dark Souls, Charlie Murder, and bonus game Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be giving away as free downloads for Xbox 360 Gold members.
Xbox One users will be treated to free Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault downloads in June 2014.
Microsoft also announced that special discounts will also be available during the month of June including discounts on Forza 5 and Ryse along with other unannounced sales.
Tons of other news is bound to be revealed at E3 in June as well.
